Summer Reading Monday, June 1 - Saturday, August 8

All ages. Read over the summer and earn prizes! Track your time spent reading on the free Beanstack app or pick up a paper log from the Information Desk. When you finish your reading challenge, check in with the librarian at the Information Desk to receive your prizes. Youth finishers will receive a book of their choice to take home, a spin on our new prize wheel, and an entry into the grand prize drawing.

The last day to turn in your log and claim your prize is Saturday, August 8. Limit one challenge per participant.

  • William Snakespeare

    June 1 – August 31 All ages. Help us grow our garden snake, William Snakespeare. Bring your own painted rock to the Library and add it to our snake as he slithers around the garden in front of the Library.

  • Touch-a-Truck

    Saturday, June 6 at 10 AM – 12:00 PM Northville High School Parking Lot, 45700 Six Mile Rd, Northville, MI, 48168 All ages. Stop by the Northville High School parking lot to explore all types of vehicles and meet the people who help to build, protect, and serve our community. The entire event will be sensory friendly. You’ll also be able to register for our Summer Reading program.  Drop in.  No Registration Required.

  • Unearth a Story Storytime

    Friday, June 12 at 10:30 AM Ages birth – 5 years, with a caring adult.  Get ready for a dino-mite storytime that includes songs, rhymes, movements, and stories that let little explorers hatch their big imaginations while building early literacy skills. Register for Unearth a Story Storytime.

  • Cotton Candy Science

    Monday, June 15 at 4 PM Monday, June 15 at 6 PM All Ages Discover the delicious science of cotton candy with KJ Art. Learn how it’s made, who invented it, and see what fun experiments we will do – including tasting at the end. Register for one session only.

  • Family Tie Dye

    Thursday, June 18 Session 1: 10:30 – 10:50 AM Session 2: 11 – 11:20 AM Session 3: 11:30 – 11:50 AM Session 4: 12 – 12:20 PM Park Next to the Library All ages. Bring a cotton t-shirt, tote bag, or other small fabric item to create your own tie-dye masterpiece. Please register all members of your group. Register for one session only.

  • LegaSea Aquarium and Reptarium Live Animal Presentation

    Wednesday, June 24 at 11 AM All ages.  This mobile experience includes a 1-hour educational presentation with 10–15 animals, including snakes, lizards, turtles, a baby alligator, and more! Everyone will get a chance to hold and interact with the animals. Register for LegaSea Aquarium and Reptarium Live Animal Presentation.

  • Fantastic Foam Party

    Tuesday, June 30 at 6 PM at the Park next to library. All ages, with a caring adult.  What better way to celebrate summer than with a FOAM party?! Join us for large cannons of foamtastic fun. Bathing suits and towels are welcome but not required. Shoes should be worn.  This even will take place in the park behind the Library.  For safety reasons, registration is required. Those not registered will not be granted access to the event.  Register for Fantastic Foam Party.

  • Book Walk: How Tall was a T.Rex?

    July 1 – July 31 (Drop in) All ages. Join us on a reading adventure. Start near the Library’s entrance and follow the signs into the park behind the Library while reading this dino-rific book.
